Graduated from the Yerevan State Pedagogical Institute of Russian and Foreign Languages named after V. Brusov, with the highest qualification in teaching Russian language and literature. On October 1, 2004, the Ministry of Education and Science of the RA awarded Ms. Melania Geghamyan with the Ministry Gold Memorial Medal for her considerable contribution to the education of students and longstanding pedagogical activity. On Teacher’s Day she was awarded the principal of the year for her significant contribution to both the education and science sectors of Armenia.

In 2010, the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, the International Humanitarian Cooperation Representation in the Republic of Armenia, and the Russian Language Educational and Methodological Center in Armenia granted Ms. Melanya Geghamyan a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her expert professional skills and considerable contribution to the education and mentorship of the new generation.

In 2012, Ms. Melanya Geghamyan was awarded a Letter of Gratitude by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Vyacheslav Kovalenko, for promoting Armenian-Russian friendship and for her long standing contribution to the development of the Russian language.

In March 2014, Melanya Geghamyan earned her degree as a Candidate of Sciences in Pedagogy (code GC.00.20) [ԺԳ.00.20, translator’s note]. She was awarded her certificate by the 020 Professional Pedagogical Council of the Higher Qualification Committee operating at the ASPU.
