Վարդան Գրեգորյան. «Ամեն ինչում արեք միայն առավելագույնը. հարգանքին հավասար ինքնահարգանքո՛վ ապրեք և հիշե՛ք. ձախողումը դեռևս պարտություն չէ, ավելին. այն դաս է՝ հետագա ճանապարհին չսայթաքելու համար»։
Այսպիսի ուղերձներով դիմեց Ավետիսյան դպրոցի աշակերտական և ուսուցչական անձնակազմին այսօրվա պատվավոր հյուրը և բանախոսը՝ «Ավրորա» Համաշխարհային մարդասիրական մրցանակի համահիմնադիր և անկախ Ընտրող հանձնաժողովի անդամ, Նյու Յորքի Կարնեգի կորպորացիայի նախագահ, պատմաբան Վարդան Գրեգորյանը, ով կրթօջախ էր այցելել մեր բարերարների՝ Էդվարդ և Փամելա Ավետիսյանների նախաձեռնությամբ:
Իր անցած գիտական և հասարակական պատկառելի ուղու մասին ամփոփ պատմելուց հետո հարգարժան հյուրը պատասխանեց դահլիճին հուզող հարցերին, որոնք հիրավի բազմաբնույթ էին. մեզ հետաքրքրում էին հռչակավոր հայ գործչի հայացքները ուսման, դաստիարակության, մարդասիրության, կամավորության վերաբերյալ, ոմանք ուզում էին ավելին իմանալ Վարդան Գրեգորյան հայի մանկությունից, ընտանիքից, հայրենիքի հետ կապերից: Մի խոսքով, դա ազգի հասուն զավակի ջերմ հանդիպումն էր ազգի նոր սերնդի հետ, հանդիպում, որտեղ մանրուքներ չկային, կարևոր էին շոշափված բոլոր հարցերը՝ իսկական ուսուցչի կերպարից մինչև հայրենիքի ապագան և սփյուռքի հետ նրա միասնությունը:
— Ձեր շնորհիվ է, որ Հայաստանը պիտի դառնա ուժեղագույնը կրթական, բանկային, նորագույն տեխնոլոգիաների, բժշկական և մյուս առաջնային ոլորտներում: Ուստի կյանքում ինչ էլ ձեռնարկեք, ձեր գործում արեք առավելագույնը. ապրե՛ք ինքնահարգանքով, ցանկացած ձախողում ընդունեք ոչ թե որպես պարտություն, այլ որպես դաս ձեր հետագա ճանապարհին: Սովորե՛ք, վայելե՛ք ձեզ ընձեռված հնարավորությունները: Հիշե՛ք. ձեր ձեռքում է հայ ժողովրդի ապագան,-այս բառերով հրաժեշտ տվեց մեզ հարգարժան հյուրը:
Տեր և տիկին Ավետիսյաններին և պարոն Գրեգորյանին հոտնկայս դահլիճը ճանապարհեց ծափահարություններով:
— Ես այսօր երկու բան հասկացա,-ասաց իններորդցի Լևոնը,- այն, որ մեր մոլորակում ձևավորվում է մարդասիրական համաշխարհային նոր շարժում, որի մեջ ենք նաև մենք՝ հայերս, և որ բարությունը կփրկի աշխարհը…
— Եվ որ հաջողություն կերտելու հզոր զենք է կամքի ուժը,-կողքից ավելացրեց նրա դասընկերը:
Ավելացնենք, որ «Ավրորա»-ի այս տարվա մրցանակաբաշխության կազմակերպիչների անցկացրած խստագույն ընտրության արդյունքում արարողությանն աջակցելու համար ընտրված կամավորներից երեքը ներկայացնում էին Ավետիսյան դպրոցը: Եվ պետք է ասել, որ մեր տասներկուերորդցիներ Գոհար Վարդերեսյանը և Ալեքսանդր Մնացականյանը, ինչպես նաև դպրոցի լավագույն շրջանավարտներից Միլենա Գալստյանը պատվով ու բարձր մակարդակով կատարեցին կամավորի պատվավոր և պատասխանատու աշխատանքը:
Do Your Best When Fulfilling Anything…
Vartan Gregorian: “Do your best when fulfilling anything; live having self-respect as much as respect and remember that failure is not defeat yet; moreover, it is a lesson for not stumbling in one’s future path”.
With such messages did today’s honorable guest and speaker of Avedisian School Aurora Global Humanitarian Award Co-Founder and Selection Committee member, President of the Carnegie Corporation of New York historian Vartan Gregorian, who visited the school with the initiative of our benefactors Edward and Pamela Avedisian, address the school students and teachers.
After giving a brief overview of his respectable scientific and public path in the past, the respected guest answered the audience’s questions, which were really diverse: we were interested in the views of the renowned Armenian on schooling, education, philanthropy, volunteering. Some people among the audience wanted to know more about the childhood and family of Vartan Gregorian as an Armenian and his ties with the homeland. In short, it was a warm meeting between the nation’s adult son and its new generation, where there were no inessential things and all the matters touched upon, from the image of a real teacher to the future of the homeland and its unity with the Diaspora, were important.
— It is owing to you that Armenia should become the strongest in education, banking, new technologies, medical and other priority areas. Therefore, whatever you do in your life do your best in your job. Live having self-respect, accept any failure not as a defeat, but as a lesson for your future path. Study and enjoy the opportunities you have! Remember that the future of the Armenian nation is in your hands, — with these words did the dear guest say good-bye to us. When seeing Mr. and Mrs. Avedisian and Mr. Gregorian off the audience unanimously rose to its feet in a standing ovation.
— I learnt two things today, — said Levon, a ninth grader, — first, a new world humanitarian movement is being formed on our planet, a part of which are us, the Armenians; and second, kindness will save the world …
— Also that a powerful weapon to success is willpower, — added his classmate.
It is worth adding that following the tough selection by the organizers of the “Aurora” Prize this year, three of the volunteers selected to assist the ceremony represented Avedisian School. And it should be noted that our twelfth graders Gohar Varderesyan and Aleksander Mnatsakanyan as well as our alumna Milena Galstyan performed their noble and responsible volunteer work honorably and excellently.
