Ավետիսյան դպրոցում 17-րդ անգամ նշվում է սեպտեմբերի 1-ը: Մեզ մոտ, ինչպես և ողջ հանրապետությունում, տոն է, գիտելիքի տոն, կրթության տոն:
Հնչում է ՀՀ օրհներգը, և երկու ութերորդցիներ հպարտությամբ բակ են դուրս բերում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և Ավետիսյան դպրոցի դրոշները:
Կրթահամալիրի տնօրեն Մ. Գեղամյանը շնորհավորում է աշակերտներին, ուսուցիչներին ու ծնողներին, մաղթում նրանց բեղումնալից ու հետաքրքիր ուսումնական տարի:
Մեր տասներկուերորդցիները ողջույնի սրտաբուխ խոսքով դիմում են առաջին դասարանցիներին, մաղթում, որ Ավետիսյան դպրոցում նրանց մանկությունն ու պատանեկությունն անցնեն նույնքան երջանիկ ու բովանդակալից, որքան հետաքրքիր անցել են իրենց կյանքի 11 տարիները: Դպրոցի սաներին բարի երթ մաղթեց նաև լիբանանահայ արձակագիր, հրապարակախոս Արամ Սեփեթճյանը:
Ահա և ամենահանդիսավոր պահը. Ավետիսյան դպրոցի աշակերտությունը միաձայն երդվում է լավ սովորել, լինել բանիմաց ու պրպտող աշակերտ և հայրենասեր քաղաքացի:

On behalf of the Avedisian School administrative and pedagogical staff I would like to express our gratitude towards you, AMAA and all the benefactors that have been supporting us throughout the history of our educational complex. Thank you for the great contribution in the educational sphere of the Armenian Republic. We are very grateful for having such an ecologically healthy building, where children not only get quality education, but also don’t harm their health and really enjoy all the conveniences provided by the generous and devoted benefactors that the Avedisian School has got.

Օգոստոսի 16-ին «Ավետիսյան» կրթահամալիրի բակում եռուզեռ էր. դպրոցի սաները այս ամառ էլ ուղևորվում էին Հանքավան՝ «Շիին Շողիկ» ճամբար` անցկացնելու ամառային մի քանի հրաշալի օրեր:
Ճամբարային բոլոր օրերն անցան բավականին հետաքրքիր: Երեխաները մեծ ոգևորությամբ մասնակցում էին բակում կազմակերպված սպորտային խաղերին ու մրցույթներին, իսկ երեկոյան՝ դահլիճում կայացած միջոցառումներին, որտեղ ներկայացվում էին հումորային զվարճալի ծրագրեր և թատերական ներկայացումներ՝ մեր աշակերտների մասնակցությամբ: Իսկ օգոստոսի 18-ին անցկացվեց ուսուցողական և ճանաչողական միջոցառում: Այս անգամ այստեղ հյուրընկալվել էին 20-րդ դարի հայ քանդակագործության և գեղանկարչության ամենապայծառ ներկայացուցիչներից մեկի՝ Երվանդ Քոչարի տուն-թանգարանի տնօրինությունն ու գիտաշխատողները:
«Ավետիսյան» դպրոցի սաները դիտեցին ուշագրավ տեսանյութ մեծ արվեստագետի կենսագրության և ստեղծագործության բազմաբեղուն ուղու մասին: Այնուհետև գիտաշխատողները մանրամասն ներկայացրին «Սասունցի Դավիթ» և «Վարդան Մամիկոնյան» լեգենդար կոթողների կերտման պատմությունը:
Միջոցառման ավարտին աշակերտներին բաժանվեցին Քոչարի ստեղծագործության վերաբերյալ հետաքրքրական բուկլետներ:
Ճամբարի վերջին օրն անցավ էլ ավելի ուրախ և անմոռանալի. պատանիները ուսուցիչների առաջնորդությամբ, մեկնեցին Ծաղկաձոր: Նրանք այցելեցին Օրբելի եղբայրների տուն-թանգարան, Կեչառիսի վանքային համալիր, ապա հիանալի ժամանակ անցկացրին բնության գրկում: Իսկ կեսգիշերին հավաքվելով խարույկի շուրջ՝ ասմունքեցին, երգեցին և զրուցեցին իրենց երազանքների մասին:
Կրթահամալիրի սաները Հանքավանից վերադարձան խանդավառությամբ և հաջորդ տարի կրկին այնտեղ գնալու սպասումով:

It is with deep sorrow that we share the sad news of the passing of Past Board Member Charles (Chuck) Bilezikian, of Osterville and Boston, MA and Palm Beach, FL, on July 26, 2016.
Mr. Bilezikian faithfully served the Armenian Missionary Association of America as a Board Member and benefactor.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, July 29th at:
First Armenian Church

Belmont, MA 02478
The burial will follow the worship service at Newton Cemetery, Newton, MA.
A memorial luncheon will take place in the First Armenian Church Hall right after the burial service.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, August 18th, at the First Congregational Church, 329 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA.
He was the loving and devoted husband of Doreen (Portnoy) Bilezikian to whom he was married for 52 years. Chuck attended the public schools in Newton, MA and graduated from Suffolk University. Following graduation he began a lifelong career in retail. In 1970 he bought a small seasonal business on Cape Cod called The Christmas Tree Shops as a means of supporting his young family. He and his family worked long hours to make the company grow from a small seasonal company to a thriving year-round business which grew to become one of the premiere shopping destinations in the Northeast.
Chuck lived life joyfully and to the fullest. He was inquisitive about everything and everyone around him. He was devoted to his family. He and Doreen traveled the world together. He loved to celebrate his birthday and he especially loved Christmas. He was engaging, enthusiastic, thoughtful, loyal and generous. He was loved by all who knew him and admired for his honesty, integrity and humor. His handshake was his word. His family was his life. His love and special legacy will live on in the countless memories his family and his many friends will carry in their hearts.
Chuck is survived by his wife Doreen, a son Gregory of Hyannisport, MA and his children Lindsay, Kate, Chad and Mia; and a son Jeffrey, and his wife Nancy, of Watertown, MA and Osterville, MA and their children Beatrice and Frieda, along with nieces Krista, Kelly and Kim and nephew Jay.
The Bilezikian Family have been long-standing supporters of AMAA’s mission and projects, in Armenia & Karabagh, including: the Krikor and Beatrice Bilezikian Kindergarten in Shoushi, the Krikor and Beatrice Bilezikian Elementary Building at the Khoren & Shooshanig Avedisian School and Community Center in Yerevan, Camp Sheen-Shoghig in Hankavan, AMAA Dental Clinic and the renovation of the Margaryan Hospital.

Ավետիսյան դպրոցում արդեն բարի ավանդույթ է դարձել յուրաքանչյուր տարի՝ հունիսին, մեծ շուքով անցկացնել 9-րդ դասարանցիների ավարտական հանդեսը: Այս գեղեցիկ սովորույթը շարունակվում է նաև Ավետիսյան ավագ դպրոցի բացումից հետո:
Աշակերտները հավաքվել էին՝ ոչ թե միմյանց հրաժեշտ տալու (չէ՞ որ նրանք դեռ երկար ճանապարհ են անցնելու միասին), այլ երախտագիտության խոսք ասելու դպրոցի բարերարներ Էդվարդ և Փամելա Ավետիսյաններին, Հայ Ավետարանչական ընկերակցությանը, սիրելի տնօրենին՝ Մելանյա Գեղամյանին, ուսուցիչներին և կրթահամալիրի յուրաքանչյուր աշխատակցի:
Այս տարվա միջոցառումը յուրահատուկ էր. աշակերտները որոշել էին առաջին անգամ անցկացնել «Ավետիսյան» մրցանակաբաշխությունը և պարգևատրել դպրոցի բարերարներին և բոլոր մանկավարժներին: Մրցանակաբաշխության կարգախոսն էր. «Երազի′ր, աշխատի′ր, վայելի′ր և գնահատի′ր»: Դպրոցը աշակերտներին սովորեցրել է ապրել այս սկզբունքով: Նրանք սովորել են, որ հարկավոր է երազել, երազել լավ կրթության, լավ երկրի, լավ ապագայի մասին, հարկավոր է աշխատել, շատ աշխատել երազանքը կյանքի կոչելու համար, հարկավոր է գնահատել ունեցածը, դրա վրա նորն ավելացնել , անընդհատ զարգանալ:
Իններորդցիները երկար էին մտածել՝ ինչ մրցանակի արժանացնեն կրթահամալիրի տնօրեն Մ. Գեղամյանին (նա կարող է հաղթող ճանաչվել շատ անվանակարգերում), և միաձայն որոշել՝ «Ամենահայրենասեր տնօրեն». չէ՞ որ նա իրենց սովորեցրել է անսահման սիրել մեր հայրենիքը, ձգտել լավ քաղաքացի ու լավ հայ լինելու, իրենց հետ հաճախ աղոթել է մեր զինվորի համար …
Շատ բան են մեր աշակերտները սովորել դպրոցում: Չխոսենք գիտելիքների մասին. նրանք շարունակելու են ուսումը Ավետիսյան ավագ դպրոցում և դեռ կհասցնեն մեզ ուրախացնել իրենց նվաճումներով: Կանաչ դպրոցը նրանց սովորեցրել է մտածել ու հոգ տանել շրջակա միջավայրի մասին, բարերարներից սովորել են բարիք գործել, կիսվել ունեցածով, կյանքը նվիրել հայրենիքը շենացնելուն…
Մրցանակաբաշխությունը աշակերտները համեմեցին ժողովրդական երգ ու պարով, հումորային համարներով ու սիրելի ուսուցիչներին ուղղված երախտագիտության խոսքերով: Նրանք, պոկելով օրացույցի էջերը, պատմում էին մանկապարտեզում և դպրոցում անցկացրած ուրախ ու անհոգ տասնմեկ տարիների մասին: Երեխաները մեծ խանդավառությամբ ու կարոտով էին խոսում հատկապես իրենց մանկապարտեզի մասին: Նրանք ներկայացրին իրենց մանկապարտեզի երգչախմբի առաջին ելույթը` հանդիսատեսին ստիպելով մի լավ ծիծաղել:
Աշակերտների պատմած հուշերը ներկաներից շատերին մի պահ ստիպեցին մտովի տեղափոխվել Ավետիսյան դպրոցի հին, անշուք ու հասարակ, բայց այնքա՜ն հարազատ ու սիրելի շենք…
Միջոցառումն ավարտվեց իններորդցիների խոստումով, որ Ավետիսյան ավագ դպրոցում ավելի լավ են սովորելու, մի օր էլ իրենք են բարի գործեր անելու ու հզորացնելու մեր հայրենիքը:
Գաղտնիք չէ, որ Ավետիսյան դպրոցը շատ հյուրընկալ է: Մենք հաճախ ենք հյուրեր ունենում թե´ Հայաստանից, թե´ արտերկրից, իսկ մեր աշակերտները սիրով շրջում են նրանց հետ, հարկ եղած դեպքում օտար լեզվով պատմում դպրոցի ու իրենց առօրյայի մասին: Ավարտական հանդեսը ևս մարդաշատ էր: Ավանդույթի համաձայն` հատուկ ավարտական հանդեսին ներկա գտնվելու համար ԱՄՆ-ից Հայաստան էին ժամանել դպրոցի բարերարներ Էդվարդ և Փամելա Ավետիսյանները: Միջոցառմանը ներկա էին նաև Հայ Ավետարանչական ընկերակցության Հայաստանի ներկայացուցիչ Հարութ Ներսեսսյանը, դպրոցի հոգաբարձության խորհրդի անդամներ, Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի նախագահ Արմեն Տեր-Կյուրեղյանը և դասախոսներ, «ԷյԹիՓի»-ի տնօրեն ՋինՄարի Բաբելյանը, Սիրիայի Հայ Ավետարանական համայնքապետ վերապատվելի Հարություն Սելիմյանը, ԿԳՆ աշխատակիցներ, Մալաթիա-Սեբաստիա համայնքի տարբեր դպրոցների տնօրեններ և ուսուցիչներ և, իհարկե, Ավետիսյան դպրոցի շրջանավարտներն ու նրանց ծնողները:
Հանդեսից հետո ելույթ ունեցավ բարերար Էդվարդ Ավետիսյանը: Նա բարձր գնահատեց երեխաների ելույթը, գիտելիքները, կրթահամալիրի ուսուցիչների` ազգային ոգու պահպանմանն ուղղված ջանքերն ու շնորհակալություն հայտնեց նրանց՝ քաջալերելով շարունակել երեխաների կրթական մակարդակը բարձր պահելու ազգանվեր գործը: Պարոն Ավետիսյանը համոզմունք հայտնեց, որ մեր շրջանավարտներին սպասվում է պայծառ ու փայլուն ապագա:
Ելույթ ունեցավ նաև Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի նախագահ Արմեն Տեր-Կյուրեղյանը: Նա հիշեց, որ երկու տարի առաջ ինքը ներկա էր Ավետիսյան դպրոցի հանդիսավոր բացմանը, և հատկապես մի բան էր իրեն տպավորել. ակնհայտ էին դպրոցի հովանավորների, տնօրենության և ուսուցիչների նվիրվածությունն ու հաջողության հասնելու ձգտումը: Պարոն Կյուրեղյանը ուրախությամբ ավելացրեց, որ այսօր էլ ստացավ նույն տպավորությունը: Վերջում նա ուսման վերաբերյալ մի քանի խորհուրդ տվեց մեր շրջանավարտներին` առաջարկելով բարձրագույն կրթությունը ցանկության դեպքում շարունակել Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանում:

AVEDISIAN SCHOOL 9th GRADERS’ GRADUATION CEREMONY
It has become a nice tradition with the Avedisian School to celebrate solemnly 9th graders’ graduation every year, in June. The Avedisian School continues with this nice tradition even after founding Avedisian High School.
The Avedisian Schoolchildren have gathered not for saying goodbye (as they have a long way to pass together), but to say a word of gratitude to the school benefactors Edward and Pamela Avedisian, the Armenian Missionary Association of America, their beloved principal Melanya Geghamyan, their teachers and every employee in the educational complex.
This year’s ceremony has been a unique one: the schoolchildren decided to hold the first “Avedisian” Awards and reward all the benefactors and teachers of the school. The motto of the awards was: “Dream, work, enjoy & appreciate!” The school has taught the students to live by this principle. They have learnt that they should dream, dream about good education, a good country and a bright future, that they should work, work hard in order to realize their dream, that they should appreciate everything they have, add something new to it and constantly improve and develop.
For a long time the 9th graders have thought what nomination to give to the principal of the educational complex Melanya Geghamyan (as she can be a winner in a number of nominations) and at last they decided unanimously — “The most patriotic principal”: she has taught them to love their motherland, to strive to be a good citizen and a good Armenian, she has often prayed for Armenian soldiers together with the students, hasn’t she?
Our pupils have learnt a lot of things at school. Let’s not speak about knowledge: they are still going to study at Avedisian High School and they will have time to cheer us with their achievements. The green school has taught them to think and care about the environment, the benefactors — to do good things and to devote their lives to making their motherland a prosperous country…
The students embellished the awards with national songs and dances, humorous verses and words of gratitude to their beloved teachers. Tearing off the calendar pages they were telling about their happy eleven years spent in the Avedisian kindergarten and school. The students were talking with great enthusiasm and nostalgia especially about their kindergarten. They presented the first performance of the kindergarten choir making the audience laugh out.
The memories told by the students forced many of the presents back to the Avedisian school old, run-down and simple building, which was so dear and beloved for them…
The ceremony ended with the 9th graders’ promises that they will study even harder at Avedisian High School and that one day they will also do good things to people and strengthen their homeland.
That’s not a secret that Avedisian School is very hospitable. We often host guests both from Armenia and abroad, and our students walk around the school together with the guests eagerly telling them in foreign languages (if needed) about the school and their daily life there. The graduation ceremony was also crowded. According to the tradition Edward and Pamela Avedisian arrived in Armenia from the USA in order to be present at the graduation ceremony. The AMAA representative Harout Nercessian, Avedisian School Board members, the president of the American University of Armenia (AUA) Dr. Armen Der Kiureghian and the AUA faculty, the executive Director of the ATP Jeanmarie Papelian, Rev. Haroutyun Selimyan, the head of the Armenian Evangelical community in Aleppo, many ambassadors and a number of employees of the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, principals and teachers of different schools in the Malatia-Sebastia Community and, of course, Avedisian School graduates and their parents were present at the graduation ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony the school benefactor Edward Avedisian made a speech. He highly appreciated the students’ performance, their knowledge, and the teachers’ efforts aimed at preserving the national spirit, and he thanked the teachers encouraging them to continue to maintain the students’ high level of education. Mr. Avedisian assured all the presents that our students will have a bright and brilliant future.
The president of the American University of Armenia (AUA) Dr. Armen Der Kiureghian also spoke at the end of the graduation ceremony. He recalled that two years ago he was present at the official opening ceremony of the Avedisian School new campus and he was especially impressed by the devotion and endless efforts of the school benefactors, directorate and teaching staff. Dr. Der Kiureghian added that he has got the same impressions today. At the end of the speech he gave some advice to our students offering them if desired to continue their higher education in the American University of Armenia.
